The new Academies Financial Handbook that comes into force from 1 September 2018 has been published by the Department for Education (DfE) and strongly recommends academies make use of the ‘Deals for schools’ that are recommended by the DfE on their ‘Buying for schools’ website. We are delighted to confirm these include four CPC deals (frameworks): Building Cleaning Services, Audit Services, Insurance services plus Desktop Hardware and RPA. Soon many more CPC deals will be recommended on the DfE website.
The Handbook places more emphasis on the importance of good procurement practice and recommends the DfE ‘Buying for School’ guidance resources which CPC provide access to as part of the Learning Resources section of Crescent Learning website . The Handbook also confirms the new reporting and consent requirements concerning contracts that are fulfilled by parties related to an academy trust, as we discussed in our Temporary and Permanent Staffing Framework news article last month.
The ESFA has also updated its academy trust guide to reducing fraud, which includes an anti-fraud checklist and new information about cyber-crime and cyber security. For more information see Academies Financial Handbook.
